Spilling the cuticle oil on discounts

Discounts can be tempting when you want to attract a last-minute Mary to take the bait (not that they need bait because the designs I’m seeing are gorgeous, but still)

I digress...

The point of a discount doesn’t have to persuade a new client IN.

It can reward your clients who have BEEN booking in.

THE SUPER FANS!

The ones saying your name after every compliment and spreading the word on the streets.

I mmmay have referred to it as being similar to dog training in my Nail Tech Closies but here is what I mean…

💦 Rewarding good behaviour is wayyy more effective than handing out treats for nothin’

💦 Instead of panic-at-the-discounts on socials, try this instead:

💦 Surprise your fave after they’ve shown you what a good client they are! This can look like:

  • Always using the correct channels to book in

  • Turning up on time

  • Respecting you

  • Oiling their freakin' cuticles and taking care of your work

  • Tagging you on socials

💦 Theeeese clients are the ones you could give a little summin’ summin’ to every now and again. Say, after they have recommended a new vibey client to you.

Think of it from your existing clients point of view

Everyone sees when you’re giving discounts to strangers on the internet...

And that is not something to get excited about if you’re the one who has been booked in for 4 weeks and all of your fave people now book in too.

It costs much more in time and energy to find new clients than it does when you have people out there, wearing your nails, doing it for you.

Focus on those who truly value your work!

Oil your cuticles,

Rachel 💜🧿
